How can the substructure on the balcony on adjustable pedestals be concealed so that it is not fully visible through the glass railing?

An elevated terrace has a void underneath, which remains visible if there is no edge border in the form of a wall or parapet.

When planning the construction of an elevated terrace, it is best to prepare a detailed project with a cross-section through the layers of the terrace. Only by executing the project can we be sure that nothing will surprise us during the construction process. We encourage designers to download a free package of files useful for designing elevated terraces - download the elevated terrace designer accelerator.

An optimal solution is to design a 10-20 centimeter blend in the railing, the height of which depends on the expected height of the pedestals. Another good solution for installing an elevated terrace with a railing is to support the last paver on an aluminum angle riveted to the railing. Such a mounted profile serves as both support and a boundary for the terrace. Below, we present a cross-section of such a terrace and photos.

If it is not possible to rivet the aluminum angle profile to the railing posts, it is also possible to create closures using clips for installing closures. For balconies, we recommend installing 2 cm thick pavers, which can be mounted on physical hooks. The mechanical installation of pavers on hooks built into the closure plate provides certainty that such a paver will not detach from the terrace.

We also encourage designers to submit their projects for a free consultation on elevated terrace technology.
