Only minimal contaminants, such as sand, penetrate under the terrace, which are usually flushed away by water. If the terrace is located near trees or pollen-producing shrubs, the underside of the terrace can be rinsed with water or blown off with compressed air. Below is a picture of a terrace that underwent inspection approximately 5 years after installation.
